Sergio Francisco, head coach of Real Sociedad, addressed Umar Sadiq's future this weekend. The Nigerian striker did not feature in the season opener at Valencia, and the coach neither confirmed his stay nor a possible exit. Sadiq's future at Anoeta remains up in the air.

According to manager Sergio Francisco, Umar Sadiq's future at Real Sociedad is uncertain. The Nigerian international is in talks with other clubs and is not currently part of the Basque side's immediate plans. Francisco acknowledged ongoing negotiations but stopped short of assuring the player's stay.

"Sadiq is in open talks; all kinds of discussions are taking place, but that doesn't mean he's out of our plans. I can't say for certain whether he'll leave or stay. There are five players without a squad number because they are in negotiations; at the end of the transfer window, we'll see how we allocate them," the manager said, as reported by Eldesmarque.

Valencia appears to be the preferred destination for the Nigerian international, who impressed during his loan spell at Mestalla in the second half of last season. .
