Manchester City have reportedly been offered a double-signing of a Portuguese duo by super-agent Jorge Mendes this summer, including one name from the Premier League.

Etihad Stadium bosses are likely to be busy during the upcoming market, as Pep Guardiola looks to have his first-team set-up strengthened once again ahead of what could be the Catalan’s final season in charge of the club.

Guardiola will enter his final year of contract at the Etihad following the conclusion of the ongoing season, and while there is a feeling of calm around the situation, Manchester City officials will almost certainly want to extend their agreement with the legendary coach.

As Txiki Begiristain and his transfer colleagues within the City Football Academy offices work towards the upcoming market, their job may have been made slightly easier through an approach made by one of the game’s most notable player representatives.

That is according to the information of Manchester City insider ‘Tolmie’s Hairdoo’ reporting on X, who claims that super-agent Jorge Mendes has proposed a double deal to Manchester City of Wolves’ Pedro Neto and Benfica midfielder João Neves this summer.

It is detailed that the total cost of the latter would be offset by allowing his other client, Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva, to finally leave the Etihad Stadium following a number of transfer markets failing to bring a satisfactory offer to the negotiating table.

Interestingly, Joao Neves’ current employers Benfica are ‘open’ to the idea of Bernardo Silva being included as a £50 million makeweight in any pursuit of the 19-year-old rising star.

Manchester City supporters have seen a consistent rise in transfer links involving the club and Pedro Neto following the turn of the year, and perhaps the club’s relationship with Wolves officials could work in their favour amid competition from Premier League clubs.

Txiki Begiristain and his Etihad Stadium colleagues worked at speed alongside their Wolverhampton counterparts during the closing stages of the last summer transfer window, recruiting Matheus Nunes from Molineux on Deadline Day.

It remains to be seen whether that successful pursuit of Nunes and the manner in which Manchester City worked with Wolves will benefit them in the chase for Pedro Neto, however they will certainly be boosted by the player’s agent and his willingness to get a deal done.
