The powers that be at La Liga giants Real Madrid are set to hold an imminent meeting with their counterparts at Manchester United.

That’s according to ESPN’s Rob Dawson, who has confirmed that the transfer team at United are currently in the midst of a ‘tour of Europe’s biggest clubs’.

As much comes with the Red Devils brass keen to get a jumpstart on a planned squad overhaul at Old Trafford this summer.

This past Monday, United football director John Murtough and director of football negotiations Matt Hargreaves travelled to Catalunya, for a sit-down with Barcelona chief Deco.

Then, on Tuesday, a similar get-together was held with capital giants Atlético Madrid.

And Man United’s tour of Spain will not come to an end there, either, with ESPN adding that ‘Murtough and Hargreaves are also set to meet counterparts at Real Madrid as well as clubs in Portugal and Italy’.

Though it is as of yet unclear precisely which members of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad are likely to be under discussion, the Premier League heavyweights are understood to have prioritised the signings of a new central defender, and striker.
