the first hurdle has been cleared! botH Jerome Onguene's CAMEROON AND Mohamed Camara'S MALI ARE CONTINUING THEIR pATH INTO THE AFRICAN cup of nation's last 16. both national teams remained unbeaten in the group stage and won their groups.

Hosts Cameroon finished in first place in their group with seven points. Jerome Onguene started in the 2-1 opening win against Burkina Faso, but remained on the substitutes' bench for matches against Cape Verde and Ethiopia. Mali also finished top of their group with seven points, with Mohamed Camara making his first appearances as a substitute in the 2-0 win against Mauritania.

Cameroon's next fixture is on Monday 24 January at 20:00 CET. Jerome & Co are to face the Comoros in the last 16. Mali are to face Equatorial Guinea on Wednesday 26 January at 20:00 CET.
