AFC Wimbledon came out on top at Ashford Town by four goals to three to take a step closer to promotion from FA Women’s National League Division 1 South East.

NORTHERN PREMIER DIVISON

Halifax 1-2 Burnley (Att: 117) Huddersfield Town 0-2 Nottingham Forest (Att: 78) Liverpool Feds 1-1 Stoke City (Att: 110)

Nottingham Forest pushed Huddersfield Town nearer the drop with two goals in the last 30 minutes, Freya Thomas seeing her cross go straight in before setting up Sophie Domingo for the second.

Second-placed Burnley took the points 2-1 at Halifax, Grace Prior giving them the lead and the hosts levelling before a dramatic 97th-minute winner from Laura Elford.

Liverpool Feds draw with sixth-placed Stoke City lifted them into seventh spot, Paige Cole’s free kick cancelling out Saffron Jordan’s goal for the Potters.

DIVISON 1 SOUTH EAST

Norwich City 6-0 Cambridge City (Att: 247) Ashford Town 3-4 AFC Wimbledon

AFC Wimbledon need two wins from three to take the title, after emerging victorious from a seven-goal thriller despite losing Ashlee Hincks to an early injury. Hannah Mackenzie’s opener brought an equaliser direct from an Alissa Down free kick. Breon Grant and debutant Skye Bacon then scored to give the Dons a 3-1 interval lead, Down replied again with a set-piece but Sandra Soares Martins made it 4-2 before Ashley Cheatley netted a third for Ashford Town.

Norwich City went second when confirming Cambridge City’s relegation. Lauren Tomlinson, Natasha Snelling and Rachel Lawrence scored in the first half, Lawrence adding her second before one apiece from Lauren Hailes and Freya Symonds.

DIVISON 1 SOUTH WEST

Portishead Town P-P Exeter City Southampton Women 0-4 AFC Bournemouth

AFC Bournemouth cut Exeter City’s lead at the top down to five points with one game still in hand, Gemma Hillier, Molly Barron-Clark, Lucy Cooper and Maisy Smith all getting first-half goals at Southampton Women.
