Southampton striker Adam Armstrong has put pen-to-paper on a new three-year deal with the club.

Armstrong was a sensation for Saints last term, scoring 24 goals in the Championship as the south coast side secured their immediate return to the Premier League via the play-offs.

And the former Blackburn man has been rewarded for his goals with a new deal that will keep him at St Mary’s until 2027.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Armstrong said: “It’s amazing. Coming off last season, having that buzz, coming back into pre-season and getting started again brings back memories, so I’m delighted.

“I’m looking forward to it – back in the Premier League, it’s the best league in the world. It’s just about enjoying it and hopefully pushing on.”

Southampton will start their Premier League campaign away at Newcastle on August 17.
