Viktor Gyokeres has become perhaps the second hottest striker name being linked with Chelsea, behind only his almost-namesake Victor Osimhen.

We’re not the only club being linked with the Swede, and that shouldn’t surprise anyone. He’s rattling the goals in in the Portuguese top flight, and those kinds of stats are bound to attract attention from all over. Even some Italian clubs seem to think they have a chance.

The Gazzetta dello Sport are putting AC Milan’s name in the mix, and in order to make that make sense, they’re saying that Sporting will accept an offer as low as €50m.

That sounds like very wishful thinking to us. When was the last time a 25 year old with 36 goals in 39 games (and that’s ignoring his impressive assist numbers) went for that sort of money? With so many top sides interested, we’d expect Sporting to be raising their asking price, not lowering it.
