Manchester United fans react as Daniel James shows frustration at being taken off for Wales against Switzerland

Manchester United Daniel James was Wales’ best player in last night Euro 2020 clash against Switzerland.

The winger played a major role in his side’s goal, providing the assist for Kieffer Moore’s equalizer. He was actively involved in his team’s best attacking moves all night.

This made it all the more surprising when he was the one to make way for David Brooks. James could barely hide his surprise and did not look happy as he was taken off. He was pictured shaking his head at the decision and repeatedly asking “Me, me?

Speaking after the game, Wales manager Rob Page confirmed the United ace’s disappointment but went on to add that there is no issue that could blow up.

James had to be consoled by members of the Wales backroom staff as he came off. Page insists that everyone has already moved on from the incident.

The fact that James was the one to make way and not the ineffective Gareth Bale made little sense to us. However, the decision had been made and the best way forward for everyone is to get on with it.

Wales next play Turkey on 16th June. A win will put them in a good position ahead of the big game against Italy on 20th June. What role James plays in the two games remains to be seen.
