A premature derby victory and a last-minute win against St. Pauli

Yesterday's Virtual Bundesliga (VBL) fixtures were full of thrills and not for the faint-hearted. With six out of a possible nine points, BVB reduced the gap to a play-off place to three points.

The evening got off to the worst-possible start for Dortmund's eFootballers. After a draw in the 2vs2 (2-2) and two losses in the 1vs1 (7-0 and 3-0), Bayer 04 Leverkusen deservedly took the points.

But the Black & Yellows got their act together and claimed a spectacular win in the derby against Schalke 04, the duo of Roee Feldman and Alihan Kösecik winning 5-4 in the last second in the 2vs2. Roee Feldman then won the ensuing match-point for BVB and wrapped up a premature derby victory in the process, with the third match no longer needing to take place.

To round off the evening, the Borussia Dortmund team played their Matchday 26 clash against third-placed St. Pauli. After two draws, it was all to play for in the final individual match. The match between Roee Feldman and Kamal Kamboj looked all set to end in a draw up until the 90th minute, only for Feldman to make it 2-1 via a sophisticated corner routine and secure three important points.

The Black & Yellows have a defining matchday on the agenda next Tuesday (13/2). In Hamburg and Düsseldorf, they will go up against two neighbours in the table who are in the battle for eighth position, which will qualify the occupant for the play-offs. In between those two matches, BVB will also battle VfL Wolfsburg for three important points. You can follow their games live on Twitch from 17:00 CET!
