The 19-year-old, who has started 25 of Bristol City’s 26 league games this season, has attracted plenty of interest from the Premier League over the last few months.

As per a tweet from journalist Ben Jacobs, Bournemouth, Brighton, Leeds United, Leicester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Wolves, are all monitoring the young midfielder’s situation this month.

The technically-gifted midfielder, who can also slot in as a right-wing-back, has five assists to his name in the Championship this season, as he continues to shine in the early stages of his career.

Three of our writers here at FLW have shared their thoughts regarding the young midfielder and whether or not £25 million is a fair valuation.

Scott is undoubtedly one of the finest players that the Championship has to offer at the moment and he is destined to play t the highest level for a long time.

Whilst £25 million is a lot of money, it does represent a fair price when looking at his potential, the ability he is showing in the here and now, and the length of his contract.

Premier League managers have often grumbled about the extortionate prices of players in the Championship, however, it continues to be a market that they religiously scan.

Bristol City are fully in control here and have every right to hold a high valuation, with the number of clubs in pursuit meaning that it is a figure that could actually be met during this transfer window.

When you consider that Alex Scott is one of the most exciting young players in the Championship, this is a relatively fair valuation for the midfielder in today’s market as English players tend to be sold for premium prices.

Tottenham, Leeds and Wolves may decide to wait until this summer instead of forking out £25m this month as Scott is likely to make more strides in terms of his development by featuring week-in, week-out for the Robins.

During the current campaign, the midfielder has demonstrated his talent by providing five assists in the second-tier for the Robins.

Currently averaging a respectable WhoScored match rating of 6.84 at this level, Scott may take his game to new heights if he stays at Ashton Gate for the remainder of the season.

Considering his contract doesn’t expire until 2025, the Robins should be entitled to hold out for £25m, though it would be difficult to see a side meeting that.

With Premier League clubs also seemingly reluctant to pay big money for other Championship stars like Viktor Gyokeres and Ben Brereton Diaz, interested sides may wait until his price tag comes down to make a move for him.

At 19, the sky is the limit though and for a potential future England international, £25m may turn out to be a great investment.

For that sort of money though, the likes of Spurs and other top-tier teams may want him to come in and make an instant impact so it would be a shock if he was sold for that sort of money this month.
