According to Guillem Balagué, one of the more influential journalists in Europe, several clubs from across the Atlantic Ocean are interested in signing Flamengo striker Pedro.

On his YouTube channel, Balagué named the clubs: Real Betis, Sevilla, Brighton, Southampton, Wolverhampton and Crystal Palace.

It’s known that Pedro’s termination fee is €60m and Flamengo have already rejected offers from rivals Palmeiras of €20m plus two youth players in addition to a rumoured offer of $35m, which would have been the largest fee ever between two South American clubs.

Despite this, Flamengo manager Paulo Sousa has not guaranteed that Pedro will have a guaranteed starting spot this season.

“Our squad has to be prepared. They’ve already understood that it’s important to train well to bring that into the game. As responsible, I will make my decisions,” he said this weekend.

“There is progress in Marinho and also in Pedro. Vitinho himself entered the game very well, created good chances.

“That’s why they need to feel like they’re part of a squad with athletes with different characteristics.”

Flamengo have yet to discuss the rumours surrounding the player’s future.
