From Istanbul to the eye of the Premier League storm, there are great games everywhere you look this weekend.
Here are five we think you absolutely have to watch.
LaLiga’s surprise pace-setters travel to Montjuc on Sunday evening with a chance to prove, once and for all, that they are the real deal.
Girona have been astonishing so far this season, losing just one game all term and currently sitting joint-top of the table with Real Madrid.
Last weekend’s injury time win over Valencia showed just what Míchel’s side are all about – fast, technical football mixed with a never-say-die attitude.
Girona now travel up the road to Barcelona hoping to put a dent in the Blaugrana’s own title hopes.
Xavi’s side endured an inconsistent start to the campaign but are now unbeaten in their last four and showed against Atlético de Madrid that they can win the big games, and well.
This is going to be an absolutely fascinating encounter that could prove to be the catalyst for the season to come.
It was a performance unlike any we’ve seen before in the Premier League’s Pep Guardiola era.
Since the Catalan’s hiring at Manchester City, very few teams have been able to put a glove on the seemingly perma-champions.
But Aston Villa not only beat City, they dismantled them at their own game.
Wednesday’s win at Villa Park could be seen by many as the culmination of Emery’s 14 months in charge of the club.
For the Spaniard, he will see it as the beginning of a new dawn in the Midlands.
How Villa then back up that victory over the treble winners will say a lot about where they are as a squad and if they can actually mount a title challenge.
It’s current table-toppers Arsenal who travel the short distance north this Saturday in what’s already looking like one of the games of the season so far.
The stand-out sides in this season’s FA Women’s Super League meet at the Emirates on Sunday for what’s bound to be one of the highlights of the campaign.
Emma Hayes, in her final season as Chelsea boss, has orchestrated a near-perfect start to the season with the Blues dropping just two points so far in their opening eight matches.
In Lauren James they have, arguably, the best player in the division right now with the reigning Player of the Month having scored five and assisted one in just her last two games.
Arsenal meanwhile are also on a fine run, having lost just once – on the opening day – and sit three points behind their capital rivals.
With Beth Mead now back to full fitness and firing on all cylinders, expect the net to be ripple a few times on Sunday afternoon.
Two of the original ‘Sette Sorelle’ – or ‘Seven Sisters – of Italian football meet on Sunday night in what’s guaranteed to be a boisterous occasion at the Stadio Olimpico.
It’s Roma vs Fiorentina with both sides having genuine aspirations of a top four finish come May next year.
Jose Mourinho’s side were pretty woeful at the start of the campaign but have since turned things around to the point where they have now lost just one of their last eight games in Serie A.
In Romelu Lukaku they have a goalscorer who is enjoying a purple patch right now, scoring 10 goals in 17 appearances and more than making up for Tammy Abraham’s long-term absence.
La Viola meanwhile are the very model of inconsistency.
A great win against Napoli was followed by a defeat to Lazio. An impressive display versus Bologna was then cancelled out by a loss at Milan.
It really will be a roll of the dice as to which Fiorentina turns up this weekend.
It’s third versus first, it’s an Istanbul derby, it’s going to be an absolutely riveting encounter.
Beşiktaş host Fenerbahçe on Saturday with the Black Eagles attempting to reign in Fener as one of the runaway leaders of the Turkish Süper Lig.
The visitors are currently sitting joint-top of the table with 37 points having lost only once so far.
Fenerbahce are far and away with league’s top scorers as well having netted 37 in 14 games, with four players already having score double figures this term.
Edin Džeko, Dušan Tadić, Sebastian Szymański and Irfan Can Kahveci have all been in stunning form in front of goal and should all start on Saturday.
Beşiktaş meanwhile seem to have bounced back after an early season slump with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain hoping to continue his fine derby form having scored against Galatasaray back in October.
