Hertha Berlin v Bochum

The Bundesliga reaches its penultimate weekend and there’s still everything to play for at the top and bottom of the table.

The race for the title is very much alive with Bayern Munich hosting RB Leipzig whilst Borussia Dortmund, a point behind Thomas Tuchel’s side, face Augsburg.

But the most interesting battle on matchday 33 comes from the capital.

It’s been a torrid season for Hertha Berlin with the Olympiastadion side a basketcase off the pitch and a complete rabble on it.

The basement side have won just six games all campaign and must claim two victories from their final two games to stay in the division.

That starts on Saturday against Bochum who, in 15th place and on 31 points, are teetering on the edge of relegation themselves.

It won’t be pretty but it sure will be fascinating.

Chelsea v Arsenal

This season’s Women’s Super League has been one for the ages with Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal all still in the race for the title with two games to go.

Two of those sides – Chelsea and Arsenal – meet on Sunday in what promises to be one of the most thrilling games of the campaign.

The Blues are on a stunning run of form at the moment, having last dropped points domestically back in January.

That was against the Gunners, who drew 1-1 just after Christmas, and then gave Emma Hayes’s side a bloody nose in the Conti Cup final.

The north London side ran out 3-1 winners back in March with Kim Little particularly impressive that afternoon.

Little though is part of a long list of absentees for Arsenal this weekend handing Chelsea slight advantage.

Should the west London club beat Arsenal and see Manchester United lose to Manchester City later on Sunday, they will be crowned champions.

Napoli v Inter

It’s been an emotional few weeks for Napoli and their supporters.

The Partenopei have really strolled to the title this season, with their draw at Udinese earlier in the month securing their first Scudetto in over 30 years.

Perhaps understandably then, Luciano Spalletti’s side have, in relative terms, taken their foot off the gas.

That could spell good news for Inter this week as the Champions League finalists travel to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona looking for a vital win.

Victory in the south would, if results go their way, all but guarantee a top four finish and bouy morale even more ahead of their trip to Istanbul in a few weeks’ time.

Sevilla v Real Betis

Regular LaLiga watchers will tell you that the Andalusian derby is comfortably the craziest and most-passionate in Spain.

Whether it’s the blistering temperatures or the cauldron-like atmosphere in the stadium, matches between Sevilla and Real Betis rarely disappoint.

It’s been a tough season for Sevilla domestically who, only in recent weeks, have managed to turn things around to avoid a shock relegation.

In Europe though, they have been their usually brilliant selves and are once again facing the prospect of a Europa League final – their seventh final in 18 years.

Betis meanwhile have been a model of inconsistency this term – often looking brilliant for stretches but then losing unexpectedly just as things were about to hit warp speed.

Two wins on the bounce however have seen them surge up the table to sixth place and, with four games to go, are now just seven points off the Champions League places.

The Football League Play-Offs

The Football League play-offs never, ever, disappoint.

Thursday night saw Sheffield Wednesday complete the greatest comeback in their history as the Owls reversed a 4-0 deficit in the first leg against Peterborough, winning 4-2 on penalties after it finished 5-5 over 120 minutes.

Friday night will have to do something special to come close to that, but with the play-offs, anything is possible.

Barnsley and Bolton will fight it out to see who will face Darren Moore’s side at Wembley for a place in next season’s Championship with the scoreline neatly poised a 1-1 after the first game.

In the League Two play-off semi-finals, first up we have a local derby as Stockport host the Gary Neville-backed Salford.

Salford lead this one 1-0 from the first game but with Edgeley Park rocking and the hosts having beaten Salford in the league fixture earlier in the campaign, this one is set up very nicely.

Lastly in League Two we have two big clubs who have fallen on hard times, aiming to climb back up to somewhere they belong.

That’s Carlisle and Mark Hughes’s Bradford.

Bradford are the side with the advantage right now after they won 1-0 last week.

But with 66 goals this season, Carlisle are one of the more free-scoring sides and will fancy their chances in front of a home crowd.
