Brighton boss Graham Potter could replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as Manchester United manager

According to The Athletic (h/t Daily Star), Brighton boss Graham Potter could be lined up by Manchester United as the potential replacement for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Despite the dreadful results in recent weeks, including the demolition by Liverpool, the Old Trafford faithful are continuing to keep faith in their Norwegian manager, but his days could be numbered.

The board are considering several alternatives to the 48-year-old, and the likes of Antonio Conte, Brendan Rodgers, and Zinedine Zidane have been touted as possible options.

However, a new name could now be on the list in the form of Graham Potter. The Brighton boss has certainly turned the tide at the East Sussex club, and his methods are finally paying off this season.

Although he did an incredible job at keeping the Amex outfit in the Premier League in recent seasons with minimal investment, the performances have notched up a level this term.

The Seagulls are currently 5th in the league table, having lost only 2 out of 9 games this season–a better record than the one Solskjaer has managed at United this campaign. All in all, Potter is said to have a win percentage of 29.2, however, he has only lost 36 out of the 96 games he has managed.

Thus, it would be an indicator that he can definitely punch above this level with better players and better facilities around him. However, a move to United is only said to be possible if the club put off sacking their 48-year-old coach for some time.

There is a lot of commotion at Old Trafford over a new manager being appointed, and if Solskjaer does get sacked later, the Englishman could be a really smart appointment by the Red Devils.
