Everybody is out there looking for the next big thing … but who is ready to explode next season?
While the door has closed for long-serving defender Giorgio Chiellini, another door has opened for Giorgio Scalvini who is already making a name for himself in Italy.
The 18-year-old did not make his senior debut until October, but has since fully established himself under Gian Piero Gasperini with 21 appearances in all competitions.
Blessed with technical elegance and speed to match his defensive nous, Scalvini has every attribute needed to thrive in the modern game.
Having lost their way in recent seasons, Xavi is back at Barcelona and they are finding they way again with technical football being played by technical players.
And having plucked Pedri from Las Palmas, the Catalan club are trying their luck again with Racing Santander prodigy Pablo Torre (pictured left) who is already levels above his senior teammates.
Quick, direct and skilful, the 19-year-old has already been compared to Andrés Iniesta but whether he stays at Camp Nou or leaves on loan next season – keep your eyes peeled.
Rennes were shocked when their latest academy graduate left for Hoffenheim with just four appearances to his name, but Georginio Rutter has already proven himself right.
The Frenchman has been compared to Roberto Firmino – who Hoffenheim enjoyed for four seasons before he left for Liverpool – with great technique, skill and ability to drop deep as a false nine.
With eight goals and two assists this season, there is plenty more to come from the Brittany-born forward in Sinsheim.
