FC Barcelona are set to play their next La Liga game right after the end of this March international break, and there will be several Blaugrana players who will not get enough time for rest following their national team duties ahead of this game against Osasuna that was rescheduled to be played on March 27th.

One such player will be the striker, Robert Lewandowski, as he will have slightly less than 72 hours of rest after his game with the Polish national team against Malta tomorrow before the game against Osasuna.

The veteran Pole reportedly felt discomfort in the last game he played for his national team, against Lithuania, and had to be subbed out only a few minutes after he scored the only goal of the match.

However, his coach, Michal Probierz, made it clear that Lewandowski was not suffering from anything serious, and thus he remained with his national team camp for the ensuing game against Malta.

This lack of rest and physical problems will be a particular point of concern for Hansi Flick, as the Pole’s replacement at Barcelona for the striker position, Ferran Torres, was also feeling some discomfort before his national side, Spain’s, game against the Netherlands.

However, he remained a part of the national team, and can still play in the second leg of the UEFA Nations League quarter-final tie.

In such a scenario, when there are fitness concerns for both these players, Mundo Deportivo reports that Ferran Torres is more likely to start the upcoming game against Osasuna instead of Lewandowski.

This seems to be particularly the case as Flick had already named the Spaniard in the starting line-up before the game against Osasuna was ultimately postponed due to the death of Dr. Carles Minarro a few weeks ago, as the Pole had been suffering from some discomfort after the UEFA Champions League game against Benfica.

There are still some days before this La Liga game is set to be played, and thus there might be some changes in Flick’s plans. But for now, Torres looks to be the more likely starter for this game than Lewandowski.
