Uncertainty is always something to worry about at a top club, and especially at Barcelona. The Catalan giants remain one of the most competitive sides in world football, and they have high demands of their players. However, not every single individual at Barcelona ends up getting the same level of opportunities.
There are those that are guaranteed starters, and others that often find opportunities as substitutes or rotational players. However, then come the players who barely get any prominence, and are even shown the door sometimes through indirect means.
For 21-year-old Pablo Torre, he is somewhere in the middle of all that. The Spaniard, whenever he does play, has shown that he possesses a good enough quality to help out the team against any kind of opposition. His set-piece delivery is one of the best in the team, and he is a naturally gifted and technical footballer.
However, considering his lack of minutes and prominence, some may suspect that he would prefer a change of scenery. According to Mundo Deportivo, however, that is not the case after all. In fact, the player wants to continue at Barcelona and earn his place under Hansi Flick, as he has no plans to leave in the winter transfer window despite other clubs being interested.
While he knows that earning a starting place will be extremely difficult, he is more than grateful for the opportunities that he does get. Moreover, he is attentive to the fact that since Barcelona is competing in various competitions across the board, Flick will undoubtedly need to make rotations and that could be his big chance.
So far, the Copa del Rey has been the primary tournament where he has received the most opportunities to play and show off his qualities. The last time he even featured in a La Liga game was back in November of last year, in a defeat to Las Palmas.
His highlight of the season, however, undoubtedly came against Sevilla in October of 2024. Scoring two goals against the opposition, Torre must believe that more performances like that one will certainly give Flick a lot of food for thought, and perhaps an opportunity like that could come for him in the Copa del Rey tie against Valencia.
