Last season, there were several player exchanges between the two top-division Catalan clubs, FC Barcelona and Girona. The Blaugranes bought the midfielder Oriol Romeu for them, while the youngster Pau Victor was also obtained on loan to play with Barcelona Atletic.

On the other hand, two players from FC Barcelona, Eric Garcia and Pablo Torre, went the other way to join Girona on loan.

While Eric Garcia was able to establish himself as a key part of Michel’s team, which remained a serious contender for the La Liga title for most part of the season, Pablo Torre had a more mixed season, as he played some games but was not a very prominent part of the team.

Now, with their loans having ended, both Garcia and Torre are going to return to Barcelona this summer. Eric Garcia is expected to have a place in Flick’s team for the next season, but there is more uncertainty surrounding Torre at the moment.

Although he had several offers from the first and second-division teams in Spain, the midfielder was previously considering two options for his future, i.e., staying at Barcelona or returning to Girona.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the youngster has made his decision now, and he will be at Ciutat Esportiva on July 10th to undergo his medical check-ups ahead of the start of the pre-season. Flick will assess his performance, and then it will be decided whether he will stay at Barcelona or join another club.

Torre arrived at Barcelona from Racing Santander in 2022 for €5 million, as Xavi pushed for his signing while Real Madrid were also looking to capture him. The midfielder was convinced by Xavi that he had a place in the Barcelona squad, but he could not get a lot of minutes on the pitch.

Now, knowing that Flick utilizes an attacking midfielder, Torre is confident that he can have a place in the Barcelona squad. However, he will still face stiff competition from the likes of Pedri, Gavi, Fermin Lopez, and Ilkay Gundogan.
