Real Madrid are set to be without the services of a pair of leading players for this weekend’s Clásico.
This comes owing to respective injuries suffered whilst lining out against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Real are of course fresh off a comeback 5-2 drubbing of Dortmund on the continent.
En route to as much, however, both Rodrygo and Thibaut Courtois picked up fitness problems.
In the case of the former, he is dealing with what is described by The Athletic as a muscular injury in his right leg, the precise extent of which is yet to be revealed.
Shot-stopper Courtois, meanwhile, has suffered an ‘adductor injury in his left leg,’ confirmed in a statement across the website of the Spanish champions a short time ago:
‘Following tests carried out on our player Thibaut Courtois by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with an adductor injury in his left leg. His progress will be monitored.’
Both players, as a result, have been ruled out of contention to feature against Barcelona in the season’s first edition of El Clásico this coming Saturday.
