Sport Bild reports that 1.FC Köln made a last dash attempt to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Youssoufa Moukoko on loan in the summer.
A proposed move for the 18 year old was made right at the end of the window when Niclas Füllkrug joined Dortmund from Werder Bremen. However, Moukoko was not interested in a move to the club due to how late in the window the offer was made and did not want to be hurried out of the door.
Eintracht Frankfurt and Bremen had also shown a brief interest in signing Moukoko on loan, but Köln were the only club to make a concrete offer.
It has previously been reported that Köln will try again in the winter to sign Moukoko on loan but it looks even less likely as Dortmund will want alternative striking options with Sebastien Haller expected to travel to the Africa Cup of Nations with Ivory Coast in January. But, Moukoko has experienced a significant drop in playing time under Edin Terzic this season so a move to Köln may appeal to him now.
