The Xabi Alonso revolution at Bayer Leverkusen is looking tastier with each passing week.
With a four-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga, Leverkusen found themselves 3-0 up by the break against VfL Bochum as they look to stretch their lead.
Alonso’s men were driven on by a stunning first-half hat-trick from Patrik Schick, with all three goals coming within 16 minutes.
The first arrived from the penalty spot before Schick drilled home a cross from inside the box and later headed home his third. He’s also playing as their backup striker right now.
Those goals saw the Bundesliga outfit hit a sensational mark of 80 goals scored across 25 games in all competitions this season. That’s an average of more than three goals per game!
There are surprise leaders atop many of Europe’s leagues this season, but Bayer Leverkusen may just be the most impressive.
Who is going to stop them!?
