Liverpool have been told to splash out a cool £113m on the perfect replacement for Mo Salah if the Egyptian star does leave Anfield.

Incoming director of football Richard Hughes is believed to be keen on retaining key talents like Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk as they enter the final year of their contracts.

However, speculation over the Egyptian forward, a pivotal figure in Liverpool's recent success, persists, especially amid interest from the Saudi Pro League. Last summer, despite a staggering £150 million bid on the table, Salah ultimately stayed. But with Klopp's impending departure, Saudi interest could yet resurface.

Former Liverpool right-back Steve Nicol believes that it will and when asked who should replace the star forward, he showed no hesitation in proposing Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, currently plying his trade at Napoli.

KOP FLOP NABY KEITA SUSPENDED BY WERDER BREMEN

£52m Liverpool flop Naby Keita has been suspended until the end of the season by his club Werder Bremen and levied with a substantial fine following his weekend no-show.

The club has claimed that the 29-year-old midfielder refused to travel with the team for a Bundesliga fixture against champions Bayer Leverkusen when he learned that he wouldn’t be part of the starting line up.

Following that disappointing 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace on Sunday, one Liverpool player has now been urged to leave the club for the good of his career.

While second-choice goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher has long been linked with a move elsewhere this summer, Alisson's immediate return to the starting eleven following his injury should erase any lingering doubts the Irishman had about leaving, according to former Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Kasey Keller.
