One Chelsea player is now reportedly ‘vey close’ to making the switch from the UK to Spain this summer, with a deal set to be completed.

According to Diario Sport, as cited by The Chelsea Chronicle, Blues left back Marcos Alonso is now close to securing his return to his homeland and joining Barcelona.

The fee being spoken about is €10million, which equates to around £8.6million. He will sign a 3-year contract with the Catalan club, and Chelsea have given the greenlight for the sale.

The two parties will try finalise the deal during discussions next week, and it looks to be just one of the many transfer deals that Barcelona are working on right now to try and sign new players.

Chelsea could look to replace Alonso when he leaves, or they may just look in-house as players such as Emerson Palmieri, who is returning from his loan move with Lyon.
