Real Madrid Under-19s won their eighth Copa de Campeones, beating Betis in the final at the Ciudad del Fútbol de Las Rozas. A stunning Manu Serrano bicycle-kick with 14 minutes gone and a Gonzalo brace, on 82’ and 87’, clinched the win for Arbeloa's boys. The Under-19s close out a spectacular season that has also seen them win their Group in the División de Honor and the Copa del Rey  It's the second time ever the team have completed the treble.

Our youth team went ahead early on thanks to Manu Serrano's special strike with just 14 minutes on the clock. The centre-back had the ball in the back of the net with a delightful over-head kick following a series of rebounds after a corner. Betis responded four minutes later through a swift counter that sent Ortíz through one-on-one with Piñeiro, but Chema got back to block the forward's effort. Before the half-hour mark came around, Arbeloa's had a chance to extend their lead with Jiménez's shot across goal but Josan did superbly to keep the ball out at the second attempt. Just as it looked as though half-time would come around with our team in the lead, Betis levelled in the 42nd minute as Van der Putten headed home following a corner (1-1). The game followed much the same pattern after the break as Arbeloa's boys continued their attempts to break down the opposition defence, which was resolute as they attempted to spring the counter-attack. They came close to getting their goal on 79’, twice in quick succession. The first came as Nico Paz and Jiménez linked up but the latter's pull-back was just behind Palacios, who shot over the bar. Straight after, Gonzalo was off balance and just failed to beat Josan.

The minutes ticked by and with eight minutes left to play, the winning goal finally materialised. Our top scorer Gonzalo made no mistake this time, as Jiménez crossed and the madridista forward rose to power home a superb header that left Josan helpless. Five minutes later, Gonzalo completed his brace and rounded off the win for Arbeloa's team with a fantastic piece of individual play.
