Premier League legend Alan Shearer has admitted he wouldn’t be surprised if Chelsea have already offered Nicolas Jackson to other clubs.

Jackson’s future has been plunged into doubt following the signings of both Liam Delap and Joao Pedro this summer.

Pedro was given the nod over Jackson in the semi final against Fluminense with Delap suspended, and the Brazil international has made the most of his opportunities with three goals in two games.

Shearer on Jackson and his Chelsea future

Jackson was an unused substitute in the final, which is quite telling and speculation over his future has continued to swirl.

The Senegal international had a mixed season in which he scored ten league goals, although he did score in the Conference League final.

Jackson had a disappointing Club World Cup campaign, in which he had more red cards than goals after being sent off against Flamengo.

AC Milan are said to be interested in Jackson, whilst there’s also thought to be interest from clubs in the Premier League.

Manchester United are the latest club to be linked with Jackson, and Shearer thinks the striker could be in trouble at Stamford Bridge.

“As soon as Pedro came in and scored the two goals and [Liam] Delap’s already there, if there’s one person that’s going to be shifted out then my guess it would be Jackson,” he told The Rest Is Football.

“It wouldn’t surprise me if they’ve already offered him to other football clubs and they’ve enquired about it.”

Chelsea would sell at the right price

It’s thought Chelsea aren’t actively looking to sell Jackson, and he’s believed to have no desire to want to leave Stamford Bridge.

Jackson is reportedly no longer considered untouchable, but Chelsea are thought to want at least £50m, which simply isn’t affordable for clubs in Italy.

There’s certainly a market in the Premier League, but it remains to be seen if any offers come in which Chelsea would deem acceptable.
