Otto Addo calls up 24 players for two decisive showdowns
Black Stars / Ghana
Ghana is approaching a crucial turning point in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. On August 26, head coach Otto Addo released a list of 24 players set to face Chad on September 4 in N’Djamena, followed by Mali on September 8 in Accra. These two fixtures are decisive in the Black Stars’ bid to consolidate their top spot in Group I.
The team’s backbone remains intact: Thomas Partey, Mohammed Kudus, Jordan Ayew, and Inaki Williams are all present. Ghana’s tactician has also recalled Tariq Lamptey, who has been out for a long spell, and handed opportunities to fresh faces like Derrick Arthur Köhn from Union Berlin and in-form Caleb Yirenkyi from FC Nordsjaelland.
This selection showcases a blend of experience and youthful energy, underlining Otto Addo’s intent to strengthen his squad while planning for the future. With four points already secured, Ghana knows it must capitalize on these two encounters to maintain their grip in a fiercely competitive group where every misstep could prove costly.
