There will be nine Premier League teams playing in Europe next season, including six in the Champions League.

The performance of English teams in Europe during the 2024-25 campaign meant UEFA rewarded the Premier League with an extra spot, and then Tottenham earned a return to Europe’s top table by beating Manchester United in the Europa League final.

Manchester City, Chelsea and Newcastle all secured their spots on the final day of the season, with Aston Villa dropping into the Europa League and Nottingham Forest, in the top five for much of the season dropping into seventh to earn a Conference League spot.

Crystal Palace will be in the Europa League next season after winning the FA Cup, which is the first major silverware in their long history.
