Chivas Femenil is already working at maximum intensity towards the first Liguilla stage in the Clausura 2025, where they will face their last Regular Phase opponent: Pumas. The draw on Matchday 17 served as a parameter for both teams, who are not unfamiliar with what it's like to face each other in the Final Phase, as they already did so in the Clausura 2022.

Of course, on that occasion, Guadalajara advanced to the Semifinals, but it was by no means a simple task. The Quarter-Finals of that tournament was a roller coaster of emotions in both the first leg and the second leg, so in the context of the clash between the Rojiblancas and the capital, let's look back at how that tie played out.

The general table settled the series between the two after the Rebaño Sagrado finished in second place with 43 points, while the Auriazules were seventh with 22 points. On the afternoon of May 9, the first match of the series took place at the Estadio Olímpico Universitario, which resulted in a 2-2 draw.

As was to be expected, 'Depredadora' Alicia Cervantes opened the scoring from the spot at 37', with a strong cross-shot that deceived Villeda. However, the Universitarias scored in the 50th minute when Aerial Chavarín broke down the left and shot past Blanca Félix in a one-on-one situation.

The Rojiblanca response came on the quarter-hour mark, when Susan Bejarano scored a goal in the 66th minute with a shot from outside the box that went into the corner of the net. Unfortunately for the Tapatistas, a defensive lapses gave the UANL side the equalizer again at 72' through Chavarín, leaving everything for the second leg.

The closing of the match showed Guadalajara's champion's spirit, as they had to row against the tide after going down 1-2 at halftime, after goals by Liliana Rodríguez and Chavarín at 5' and 33', respectively; for the Jalisco team, Michelle González scored with a header.

The match had to be tied as soon as possible in the second half, and the Rebaño Sagrado did just that. In the 54th minute, Joseline Montoya received the ball on the right and sent a measured cross to the far post, where Carolina Jaramillo appeared to head it home, giving the Red-and-White team a place in the table.

However, in order to secure the ticket to the Playoffs, 'Licha' Cervantes scored from the spot to secure the Semifinals for Chivas Femenil at 86', with a tight shot into the top corner of the net.

Of course, in this new edition of the Final Phase rivalry between Guadalajara and Pumas, we can expect two matches of the highest quality, where we hope history repeats itself as it did in CL22.
