“We are all on the same page” – Carlo Ancelotti defiant on Real Madrid future | OneFootball

It has been a disappointing couple of weeks for Real Madrid, who have lost three of their last four matches across all competitions. They will be hoping to return to form on Sunday when they host Athletic Club at the Santiago Bernabeu in a very important La Liga fixture.

As per Diario AS, Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti looked ahead to the match against Athletic during his pre-match press conference. He also took the opportunity to congratulate them on their progression to the semi-finals of the Europa League.

“It’s going to be an intense match, both teams have had a midweek match. Congratulations to Athletic for reaching the semi-finals of the Europa League, they are getting closer and closer to reaching the final at San Mames. It will be an intense match.”

Ancelotti has been under significant pressure in the aftermath of Real Madrid’s Champions League exit at the hands of Arsenal, but he is defiant. He also rubbished reports that his players are not happy with his methods.

“I have spoken with the players and the club. We are all on the same page, and the belief is to continue fighting for the remaining titles. We are all hurt to get out of the most important competition, but these are things that can happen in football. You can’t always win.

“There is no confrontation with the club. We are in the same boat always. Whoever talks about my confrontation with the president or the club is not telling the truth. The president shows me more affection at this time than when we have won. In this world, everything is questioned. I don’t want to talk about my future now. I’ll talk about it with the club at the end of the season, not with you. I don’t want to talk now.”
