SANTA TECLA, El Salvador The 2025/26 Concacaf W Champions Cup kicked off with the Washington Spirit earning a 7-nil win against Alianza Women FC in Group B on Tuesday at Estadio Las Delicias in Santa Tecla, El Salvador.

Rose Kouassi wrote her name in the history books with the first goal in the competition for the NWSL side in the 21’ by converting from the penalty spot.

Chloe Ricketts doubled the Spirit lead in the 24’, controlling a loose ball in the area to strike the second goal of the encounter.

Brittany Ratcliffe extended the lead in the 49’ with a right-footed touch in the box.

Kouassi collected her brace and the fourth goal for the North American side in the 52’.

Trinity Rodman scored the fifth goal for the U.S. side in the 56’ on an assist from Ratcliffe.

Kouassi closed her night with a hat-trick, scoring the sixth goal for her team in the 59’ with a header in the area. Ratcliffe collected her second assist of the night on the play.

Sofia Cantore scored the seventh goal of the night in the 89’ as Ratcliffe earned her third assist.

Alianza Women will travel to face NJ/NY Gotham FC on Sep 2 for its second Group Stage match.

Washington Spirit will resume its campaign when it hosts Vancouver Rise FC Academy on September 3 in Washington, D.C.
