Kicker reports that Eintracht Frankfurt views Union Saint-Gilloise striker Franjo Ivanovic as a candidate for their attacking options.
With the pending departure of Hugo Ekitiké as well as Igor Matanovic’s move to SC Freiburg, Frankfurt need options in attack.
USG’s Ivanovic is a target, and die Adler are considering the 21-year-old who was previously part of Augsburg’s academy. Last season, Ivanovic led the Brussels side to their first league title in 90 years as he scored 20 goals in all competitions.
Ivanovic would not be the immediate replacement for Ekitike, but he would be allowed to develop behind new signing Jonathan Burkardt, whilst also being able to contribute every now and then.
On top of this, Manchester City’s James McAtee visited the club earlier this week and was especially impressed with the Deutsche Bank Park, Frankfurt’s stadium, reports Bild. Borussia Dortmund also remain interested in McAtee. The 22-year-old is versatile and would fit well in Frankfurt’s system under Dino Toppmöller.
Finally, there will probably also be movement when it comes to Ritsu Doan’s future after the Japan international decided to move to Frankfurt from Freiburg.
