Midfielder Petar Sucic put in an underwhelming display in his debut for Inter Milan in a Club World Cup draw against Monterrey.
Today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, argue that the Croat was not up to par in the 1-1 group stage opener.
Petar Sucic signed for Inter Milan earlier this month. The Nerazzurri already had a deal for the 21-year-old in the works in February, but he stayed at Dina mo Zagreb.
Naturally, this only built expectations for Sucic. Therefore, there was plenty of curiosity to see the Croatian international on the pitch at the Club World Cup.

Petar Sucic did not start for Inter against Monterrey in Inter’s group stage opener.
Rather, it was the trio of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Kristjan Asllani, and Nicolo Barella.
That had been a fairly effective midfield unit for the Nerazzurri. But then, Sucic came onto the pitch.
The system switched somewhat from there, with Sucic forming more of a two-man midfield with Barella.
However, from there, Inter lost a lot of their control of the midfield battle.
Unfortunately for Sucic, a lot of the match passed the 21-year-old by. He had few telling contributions in terms of getting the ball up the pitch, and then didn’t offer enough defensively.
Meanwhile, there was a poor backpass that nearly led to disaster, as Sucic inadvertently created a major chance for Monterrey to win the match late on.
