Cristian Chivu can virtually name “two Inter Milans” with radically distinct age profiles as a result of the team’s summer revamp.
Today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, note that the Nerazzurri can name a starting eleven with an average age over thirty, or one under 25.
It is no secret that Inter Milan are looking to lower the average age of their squad this summer.
For several years, the Nerazzurri have relied on veteran players for the last few years. That has led to them having far and away the highest age in Serie A.
Therefore, Inter have prioritized targeting younger players with room to grow this summer.
The Nerazzurri have already signed 21-year-old Petar Sucic, 23-year-old Luis Henrique, and 21-year-old Ange-Yoan Bonny.
Meanwhile, Francesco Pio Esposito looks set to get his chance in Inter’s senior squad. The striker only turned twenty this summer.

And the Corriere dello Sport how this strategy and transition has led to a big gap in ages in Inter’s squad.
If coach Cristian Chivu were to name a starting eleven with Inter’s most experienced players, the average age would be a whopping 31.5.
In that lineup, there would only be four players under thirty – Alessandro Bastoni, Denzel Dumfries, Denzel Dumfries, and Federico Dimarco.
On the other hand, Chivu could also name a starting eleven with an average age of just 24.6.
