Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Besiktas are testing the water for Liverpool’s out-of-favour winger Federico Chiesa as they explore taking him to Turkey.
The Italian winger joined the Reds last summer from Juventus, but the move has not gone according to plan.
In the first half of the season, he could not shake his injury issues off, but in the second half of the season, he found it very difficult to get game time, even though he was fit.
Chiesa did though play in the EFL Cup final and even scored.
Now, he is considering leaving Anfield this summer and a plethora of clubs around Europe are looking to bring him in.
Chiesa has serious suitors in the shape of AC Milan in Italy and Napoli are considering him as ‘a real option’.
In addition to Italy, Chiesa also has interest from Turkey and a move to Istanbul could be on the agenda.
According to Turkish outlet Fotomac (via A Spor), the Black Eagles are testing the water for Reds attacker Chiesa.
New Italy coach Gennaro Gattuso has made it clear to Chiesa that he needs to find a way to play regularly if he wants to get back to the national team.
Arne Slot’s side signed him on a long-term deal from Juventus, but Chiesa could end his Liverpool adventures after only a year.
He played only 104 minutes of Premier League football in the 2024-25 season, and as Florian Wirtz is closing in on becoming a new Reds player, he may less likely to get increased game time in the next campaign.
It remains to be seen if Manchester United legend Solskjaer will look to convince the Liverpool attacker to join his side in the upcoming weeks.
