Spurs could receive a major boost in defence as London rivals visit on Sunday
Cristian Romero is set to train on Saturday, with Ange Postecoglou hopeful the centre-half may be able to return against rivals Chelsea on Sunday.
Tottenham desperately need Romero to return to action after Ben Davies was their latest defender to succumb to a hamstring injury in Thursday's defeat at Bournemouth.
If the Argentine does not feel able to play, teenager Archie Gray is likely to fill-in at centre-half alongside Radu Dragusin.
Micky van de Ven is getting closer to full fitness and working outdoors but is not expected to face the Blues.
Postecoglou will again be without the suspended Rodrigo Bentancur, goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario (ankle), forwards Richarlison, Wilson Odobert (both hamstring) and Mikey Moore, who continues to recover from an energy-sapping virus.
Heung-min Son is expected to return to the XI after being rested at the Vitality Stadium, with James Maddison, Brennan Johnson and Pape Sarr all due to be rotated.
Dejan Kulusevski could play in the front three or midfield.
Predicted Tottenham XI (4-3-3): Forster; Porro, Romero, Dragusin, Udogie; Bissouma, Sarr, Kulusevski; Johnson, Son, Solanke.
Injured: Vicario, Van de Ven, Richarlison, Odobert, Moore
Doubt: Romero
Suspended: Bentancur
Time and date: 4:30pm GMT on Sunday December 8 2024
Venue: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
