Tottenham linked with PSG striker Randal Kolo Muani

According to journalist Florian Plettenberg (h/t Paris Saint-Germain News), PSG forward Randal Kolo Muani is set to depart during the January transfer window.

Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham, and RB Leipzig are all reportedly interested in securing the French striker’s signature. Liverpool may be leading the race, but Tottenham’s involvement certainly spices things up.

Plettenberg revealed, "Randal Kolo Muani is set to leave PSG during the January transfer window," noting that while Manchester United have inquired, they are unlikely to make an offer this month. Tottenham and Leipzig, however, remain in the hunt.

The 24-year-old’s potential departure comes amidst a challenging second season at PSG, where he’s struggled for consistent game time under Luis Enrique.

After a solid first year in Paris, Kolo Muani has found himself sidelined, unable to establish himself as a key figure in the squad.

A striker in search of form

Kolo Muani’s first campaign at PSG saw him register 6 goals and 6 assists in 26 appearances, including 23 starts.

However, his second season has been far less fruitful, with just 2 goals and 1 assist in 10 matches. SofaScore stats reveal he’s averaging only 30.5 minutes per game this term, highlighting his reduced role.

Part of his struggle stems from Luis Enrique’s tactical choices, often deploying line-ups without a natural ‘9’.

Despite his versatility, Kolo Muani has been overlooked even as a winger, limiting his opportunities further.

If he does make the leap to the Premier League, he wouldn’t be the first PSG player to find redemption in England. Carlos Soler’s resurgence at West Ham stands as a prime example.
