Tottenham Hotspur have had direct contact with Brentford manager Thomas Frank this week, according to Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna.
Spurs are expected to part ways with Ange Postecoglou this summer following a woeful Premier League campaign which saw them lose 22 games, and the Danish boss has emerged as favourite to replace him.
The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium club have discussed the project and some transfer targets for this summer with the 51-year-old Frank, and more talks are expected from the look of things.
Postecoglou won the Europa League with Spurs, helping the North London club to their first major silverware in 17 years, but it has not been enough to convince Daniel Levy that he deserves a third campaign with them.
Frank could be the perfect successor to the Australian given the fine job he has done with the Bees over the years, and a move to Tottenham could be very appealing to him.
He moved to Brentford in 2016 as their assistant head coach before becoming their head coach in October 2018 and helping them to the Premier League at the end of 2020-21.
The Spurs managerial target led them to a 13th place finish in 2021-22, a ninth place finish in 2022-23, 16th place in 2023-24 and they ended 2024-25 in 10th place, and he could help guide the North Londoners to the next level given how he has managed Brentford and their recruitment over the years.
Tottenham need to be challenging for the Premier League title every season given their status, and Frank could be the answer to their struggles as Levy looks to ring the changes in the coming weeks.
He is not the only manager Spurs have on their radar as they know they cannot afford to miss it having had four permanent managers since 2019, and they will need to take their time and ensure they bring in someone capable of getting the job done after several disappointing appointments.
