Jason Cundy was left in awe after Cole Palmer produced another piece of magic for Chelsea in their win against Newcastle on Sunday.

The Blues recorded a much needed win as they ground out a hard fought 2-1 win against the Magpies, which sees them move up to fifth in the table, just a point behind Arsenal in third.

Nicolas Jackson opened the scoring with his sixth goal of the season, before Alexander Isak equalised but it was that man Palmer who fired home the winner early in the second half.

Cundy stunned by Palmer pass

Having had a quiet game against Liverpool Palmer was back to his best on Sunday as he put in a Man of the Match performance.

Despite getting on the scoresheet the main talking point was his unbelievable pass in the build up to Jackson’s goal.

The 22 year-old received the ball and played a long range pass which scythed through the Newcastle defence to find Pedro Neto, who beat his man and then played the ball to Jackson who applied the finish.

The pass from Palmer was that good Jamie Carragher described it as one of best he’s ever seen in the Premier League.

Former Blue Cundy was equally as impressed and couldn’t believe what he had seen, describing the pass as outrageous.

“It’s unreal. This is how you rip a team apart,” he said on co-commentary for Chelsea’s official app.

“It’s the pass from Palmer, this could be pass of the season. That is outrageous, it’s a pass that absolutely devastates the backline.”

Palmer seems to have everything in his game and just makes it look so easy every time he steps on the pitch, with Maresca comparing him to Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola.

The England international has seven goals and five assists in nine games and you wouldn’t bet against him matching or even bettering his feats of last season, and he once again looks like he’s going to be Chelsea’s main man.
