Ajax manager John Heitinga has named his Ajax team for this evening’s clash with Celtic in Como. The Scottish Champions face the Amsterdam side in Italy as part of the Como Cup with sides hoping to progress to Sunday’s weekend final against Cesc Fabregas’ Como.

The former Everton defender has named his team as he gears up for a title tilt of his own in the Netherlands. The former Liverpool Assistant was appointed in the summer having spent a spell as interim manager of Ajax in 2023.

Celtic fans will be eager to see both Cameron Carter-Vickers and Shin Yamada in action. The pair will be looking for their first action of pre-season this evening. The manager will likely make a number of changes in this game as he manages his squad ahead of next weekend but it is not obviously clear what the preferred XI will be when the season starts against St Mirren next Sunday.
