Brendan Rodgers has named his Celtic team for this afternoon’s Glasgow Derby against Rangers at Ibrox. The Scottish Champions arrive in Govan looking to extend their lead at the top of the table to an incredible 17 points with a win today .
Kasper Schmeichel starts in goals. The Dane has been excellent since arriving at Celtic and will be sitting down with the club to discuss an extension in the coming weeks. The 38-year-old will be relishing a first Glasgow Derby game at Ibrox.
A back four consists of Greg Taylor, Liam Scales, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Alistair Johnston. Taylor and Scales are preferred over Alex Valle and Auston Trusty.
Callum McGregor captains the side with Paulo Bernardo and Reo Hatate. Arne Engels drops to the bench. The Belgian has been excellent in recent weeks but the manager has gone with Bernardo in that right side of centre midfield with Engels looking to come on and impress.
Kyogo starts through the middle with Daizen Maeda and Nicolas Kühn on the flanks.
Subs: Sinisalo, Trusty, Palma, Idah, Valle, Yang, McCowan, Engels and Ralston.
