Ange-Yoan Bonny has shown that he’s ready to put the place of Marcus Thuram under threat at Inter Milan.

Having relied on veterans like Marko Arnautovic and Joaquin Correa last season, Inter have made it very clear that they want to instead have a fresh face with room to grow in attack.

At Inter, Bonny will be the understudy of fellow French international Marcus Thuram.

Whereas Bonny is a promising player who’s yet to really prove what he can do, Thuram has already made good on his promise. He has lifted the Serie A title with Inter.

Clearly, Thuram is going to start next season as the first-choice starter.

However, the 27-year-old cannot take his place for granted.

Ange-Yoan Bonny showed with his performance and goal off the bench against Monaco yesterday that he is ready to push Thuram for his spot.

If the more experienced striker drops off, then Bonny is ready to take his spot.
