While awaiting their next moves on the transfer market, Roma has already begun a thorough internal restructuring, significantly modifying the Trigoria staff.
This is a veritable managerial and technical revolution that begins with the appointment of Gian Piero Gasperini, continues with the appointment of new sporting director Frederic Massara, and involves all operational areas, from medical to organizational.
The Piedmontese coach brings four familiar faces from his time at Atalanta: assistant Tullio Gritti, assistant Mauro Fumagalli, and athletic trainers Domenico Borelli, who received an award from the Italian Football Federation in 2024, and Gabriele Boccolini.
This is a proven team that will accompany Gasperini in his new adventure in Rome.
The only confirmed member of the coaching staff is goalkeeping coach Simone Farelli, who was retained on Claudio Ranieri’s recommendation.
The medical department has also been completely overhauled. The new medical director will be Andrea Billi, a highly experienced orthopedic surgeon who also previously worked at Lazio.
Alongside him is the young doctor Emiliano Coletta, 36, formerly of Latina Calcio.
There are also changes in the physiotherapy department, with the arrival of Guillermo Aladren Perez, formerly of Atalanta, Udinese, and in Russia with Rostov, and Claudio Patti, from Empoli. Balzaretti has received a promotion to the sporting department.
Sporting director Massara, meanwhile, is focusing on strengthening the scouting network, writes Corriere dello Sport.
