An insight into the wages set to be afforded to Robert Lewandowski by La Liga giants Barcelona next season has this weekend been forthcoming online.

The info comes courtesy of Diario Sport, and points towards the Polish international being set for nothing short of an eye-watering payout.

Lewandowski, of course, put pen to paper on terms in Catalunya’s capital two years ago, after arriving from Bayern Munich.

And, as part of his contract, the prolific hitman was promised a gross salary in excess of €30 million for the 2024/25 campaign.

This is a leading factor in the Barcelona brass, it is suggested, taking into account Lewandowski’s sale this summer.

Added to his declining production in front of goal, and the fact that the Pole will turn 36 later this year, Xavi is understood to have opened to the prospect of bidding farewell to ‘Lewa’ over the coming months.

As much will be transmitted to the player’s agent, Pini Zahavi, in an upcoming meeting between the parties, albeit with Barca not willing to force Lewandowski out.

The frontman himself, meanwhile, remains more than happy in the colours of the Blaugrana.
