According to SoccerNews, RKC Waalwijk’s top scorer Oskar Zawada was on the wish list for both Plymouth Argyle and Charleroi during the January transfer window. The 29-year-old has been in good form this season, despite his sides struggles. In 19 Eredivisie games this season he has scored nine goals, giving him 11 goals in 22 games overall for the campaign. Zawada only joined the side in the summer, making it his second spell in the Dutch top flight. During the 2015/2016 season he spent some time on loan at FC Twente, failing to score in 11 appearances.

During the January window both struggling Plymouth and European football chasing Charleroi tried to lure him away from the relegation threatened side. However, Zawada decided to remain with the club until at least the end of the current campaign. Zawada has had a varied career so far. He began at Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga but never made a first team appearance for the side. He then went on to play for Karlsruher, but never really made a name for himself there. Instead he moved to his native Poland where he played for Wisla Plock, Arka Gdynia, Rakow and Stal Meielec.

His real success came when he left Europe for New Zealand. During two seasons for Wellington Phoenix in the A-eague he scored 22 goals in just 42 games. He is currently closing in on his career best, which was 15 goals for the Phoenix during the 2022/2023 season. These came in just 26 games.
