Inter Milan attacking midfielder Valentin Carboni once again finds himself at a crossroads this summer.

The Argentine had joined Marseille on loan for last season. However, he suffered a season-ending knee injury in October.

Therefore, Carboni spent much of the campaign recovering from that injury.

Now, still only twenty years of age, Carboni will be aiming for a season relaunching his momentum.

In the meantime, Argentine giants River Plate have sold Franco Mastantuono to Real Madrid.

And the young attacking midfielder will certainly leave a big void in River’s midfield.

Therefore, Tuttosport confirm, the Argentines are targeting Valentin Carboni as a like-for-like replacement.

Meanwhile, the Turin-based newspaper note, Inter and River face in the final match of their Club World Cup group.

And that could certainly be an opportunity for executives from the two clubs to discuss a prospective deal for Carboni.
