Enzo Maresca is putting pressure on those at Stamford Bridge to complete the signing of Ipswich striker Liam Delap this summer.
The Blues are once again preparing for a busy window, and it’s believed they could look to fund their moves in the market by selling as many as seven or eight players.
Chelsea face a critical summer with the club looking to sign a striker, centre back and right footed attacker to help strengthen Maresca’s squad.
The Blues have failed to sign a striker for the last two windows and have paid the price, with the club now desperate for an alternative to Nicolas Jackson.
Chelsea have been linked with the likes of Benjamin Sesko and Hugo Ekitike, but the strongest links have been to Delap.
The 22-year-old has a £30m release clause in his contract if Ipswich get relegated, which makes him an attractive proposition to a number of clubs.

The Blues are reportedly confident Delap will choose them over Manchester United, and Give Me Sport have reported Maresca is putting pressure on influential figures at Chelsea to sign the striker.
The report adds Maresca believes Delap has the ability to make Chelsea more prolific in front of goal having worked with him at the Manchester City academy.
Give Me Sport state a final decision hasn’t yet been taken whether to make a formal offer for Delap as the club are wanting to keep their options open.
Delap only joined Ipswich last summer from Manchester City in a deal worth £20m, but he’s impressed with 12 goals in his debut Premier League campaign.

The striker would provide a profile in the squad Chelsea lack and his physicality, box presence and eye for goal would certainly improve Chelsea.
However, there are concerns over a lack of experience, and whether he would be able to make an instant impact at Stamford Bridge given how big the step up is from Ipswich.
