Record sale incoming for Girona as €33m deal agreed with Roma | OneFootball

The Artem Dovbyk transfer saga has been rolling on for the last few weeks, but finally, it appears to be at its end. Atletico Madrid looked destined to sign him from Girona, but personal terms could not be finalised, which has allowed Roma to swoop in – the Serie A giants are now primed to close the transfer.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio (via Football Italia), Roma and Girona have agreed a fee for Dovbyk, which was the final hurdle in the deal. The Catalans have accepted an offer worth an initial price of €33m, although add-ons would take this higher. A 10% sell-on clause has also been included.

Roma expect to finalise the agreement later this week. Girona, for whom it would be a record sale, must now begin their search for a replacement – they have already signed Abel Ruiz this summer, but it’s unlikely that he and Cristhian Stuani will be the only strikers in Michel Sanchez’s squad for the 2024-25 campaign. It remains to be seen who is sought by sporting director Quique Carcel.
