The brass at La Liga giants Real Madrid are locked in ongoing negotiations with La Liga rivals Levante, over a potential late-window transfer deal.
That’s according to Diario AS, who point towards Manuel Ángel as the subject of these talks.
Ángel, for his part, is a 21-year-old midfielder, who is currently plying his trade with Real Madrid’s Castilla side.
The youngster has long been held in high regard across the Spanish football landscape, hailed for his technical quality and ability to line out in a variety of roles in the middle of the park.
And as alluded to above, this week, such talents have proven enough for one La Liga club to kick into gear efforts to lure Ángel away from Madrid.
The outfit in question come in the form of newly-promoted Levante, who have earmarked Ángel as the perfect addition to their midfield ranks.
Discussions over the terms of a potential deal, in turn, are ongoing with the Santiago Bernabéu hierarchy, with AS concluding that:
‘The deal must be designed so that Real Madrid doesn’t lose some control over the player’s future. The most commonly used formula is a sale for half of his transfer fee, with the (buyback) option reserved, at least for a period of time.’
