Unveiled this Thursday, August 14 at Valdebebas, Real Madrid’s latest signing, Franco Mastantuono, made headlines with his surprising comments about the rivalry between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Indeed, the Argentine openly admitted he prefers Messi over Ronaldo during his introductory press conference—even though he'll be wearing the iconic white of Real Madrid, not Barcelona.

“The best player in the world, in my opinion, is Messi. I’m Argentinian and for me, he’s the greatest,” he declared with conviction.

He added: “Messi has meant a lot to both Barcelona and Argentinians. I believe Madrid is the greatest club in the world, history says so. I’m here to forge my own path, and I want Madrid supporters to be proud of what I do on the pitch.”

The 18-year-old also revealed he had been approached by PSG, but ultimately decided to join Los Merengues. “It’s true there were talks, and I thank Luis Enrique for our conversation. But in the end, I chose Madrid,” he concluded.
