Leeds United midfielder Rasmus Kristensen, on loan at AS Roma, has failed to make the Italian side’s squad list for the Europa League.

Roma had to submit a complete list of players eligible to play for the club in UEFA competitions this year. However, the Danish international was one of the players that missed out. The club were forced to exclude two of their latest signings due to Financial Fair Play.

This meant Kristensen and fellow signing Sardar Azmoun were left out due to UEFA rules. The two players will not be allowed to feature in any of Roma’s upcoming Europa League engagements. The Danish international joined Leeds United last summer from Red Bull Salzburg. He was one of a host of signings made by former Red Bull Salzburg manager Jesse Marsch. The American coach was sacked during the season after Leeds went on a long run of defeats.

According to reports, the decision was made on the basis of other players being available in the same position. The technical team of Roma felt there were better options that needed to be in the squad list ahead of the 26-year-old.
